Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of coriander seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoons of pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 0.5 teaspoons of chilli powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tin of tomatoes
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • 1 tin of chickpeas
  • 0.5 teaspoons of garam masala
  • 1 handful of coriander

Method

  1. Grind the coriander seeds, pepper, garlic, turmeric, chilli powder in a pestle and mortar
  2. Finely shop the onion
  3. Heat some oil in a pan and add the spice paste for around 30 seconds
  4. And the onion and fry for another 30 seconds
  5. Add the tomatoes and sugar
  6. Bring to the boil and bubble for 10 minutes or until reduces, mashing the tomatoes as you go
  7. Add the chickpeas and springle with garam masala
  8. Serve and enjoy!
